Green finance

Trees
The financial sector increasingly plays a role in advancing sustainable practices. Green, climate or sustainable finance aims to contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient economy by mobilising capital for environmentally beneficial projects while generating value for society.

We identify financial activities, strategies, and instruments that link financial decisions to environmental performance and/or climate-related risks from financed projects to align these decisions with sustainability objectives.

Examples of green finance initiatives include green bonds, in which investments are conditional on environmental criteria, integration of climate risks into financial decisions and disclosure and standardized measurement of companies' environmental performance to improve transparency.
