Changes in individual and institutional actions are key to achieving environmental sustainability, economic resilience, and well-functioning societies. Understanding the interplay between citizen preferences, policies, and behavioral aspects of sustainable actions provides the foundation for balanced ecological, economic, and social policies.

The Sustainable Behaviour Section seeks to understand and identify the motivations, incentives and dynamics behind sustainable and unsustainable choices and behavior at individual, family, workplace and institutional levels and their interaction. We recognize that sustainable outcomes depend not only on environmental considerations but also on fostering economic and social stability.

We conduct research that explores the economic, social, and policy sustainability implications of choices and preferences . To do so, we combine expertise in behavioural economics and psychology, utilizing real behavioural data, surveys, experiments, register data, and econometric and theoretical models to provide comprehensive insights.
